Welcome to Bridgeton County SL, a community owned and operated by Joseph Garcia-Dreyar (josephtucker.resident) and Novaa Starr (nova.cloud).

Bridgeton County SL's technology solutions are provided by GTGweb MSP and Red Robot. Our rental system is powered by CasperDNS. Our Driver License, Vehicle Registration, and Legal Process/Reporting system is powered by Apex Designs.

There are two Owners of Bridgeton County, each has their own set tasks and responsibilities.

Joseph Garcia is the County Manager:

• Tasked with IC/OOC Management, Rule Enforcement, Covenant Enforcement, Ban Appeals, Management Directive Appeals, and Financial Administration.
• Direct Supervisor to:

Novaa Garcia is the County Project Manager:

• Tasked with Community Aesthetic, Project Coordination, Sim Design, Additions Design, Parcel Design, and Landscaping. She has a veto power to Joseph's Financial Administration making them equally in financial decisions.
• Direct Supervisor to:
  • County Real Estate Manager
  • County Events Manager
  • County Marketing Manager

Estate Management Abilities are reserved for the Owners, CRM, CEM, and selected RP Team Mods charged with enforcement activities.

By choosing to rent in Bridgeton County, you are ultimately choosing to contribute to the experience and not entering a contract where Bridgeton County SL is obligated to provide you a continuous service. All sales are as-is with support requests on discord being handled along the below listed guidelines.

Refunds will not be issued for rentals in the event you decide that you no longer want to live in Bridgeton County, your rental will remain occupied until the expiration of the rental.

• All available rentals can be confirmed by visiting the address and viewing the rental box. Our website listings are there for convenience and are not always accurate.
• If you are banned from Bridgeton County for any reason you are not going to be issued a refund. Your violation of the covenant is considered a forfeit of your rental.
• Moving within the community is a generally acceptable practice and tier transfers can be completed by Rental Team members from residential to residential and commercial to commercial locations. In order to accomodate these requests, you will need to submit a rental ticket on our discord.
• Employment by Bridgeton County will afford you a discounted rental. In order to accomodate these requests, you will need to submit a rental ticket on our discord.
• Upon renting a property, you are able to request a house swap so long as 5 conditions are met. 1) The house you wish to use is 100% mesh. 2) The house you wish to use is owned by a member of the rental team or available on marketplace for purchase at their discretion. 3) There is not a duplicate of the house on the sim or the immediate neighbors. 4) The house fits the aesthetic of the neighborhood and the boundaries of the parcel. 5) You have at least one week and six days on the rental box before your expiration. In order to accomodate these requests, you will need to submit a rental ticket on our discord.
• Initial landscaping is provided by Bridgeton County, in order to request that your property be adjusted in landscaping you will need to open a rental ticket on our discord, in the case of house swaps this will be done automatically. Please allow up to a week for landscaping requests.
• Skyboxes and Platforms are not permitted outside of Bridgeton County Managers.
• Ban Lines are not permitted, nor is requesting an individual not in violation of the covenant be banned from your property. You are encouraged to seek IC means through the Sheriff's Office for this.
• Security Orbs are not permitted inside Bridgeton County.
• Loss of no-copy objects due to eviction or forfeit of rentals will not be reimbursed.
• Certain permissions (such as privacy or media streams) can only be utilized on parcelled properties. Please consider this when selecting a home.
• Abandoned rental properties will be reset and remaining rent forfeited, the following will dictate what management considers abandoned:
  • The rental is set to will not renew and has been vacant (less than 100 prims) for 72 hours.
  • The rental has less than 72 hours remaining and there are less than 100 prims are on the property, AND contact with the tenant can't be made.

Any space outside of the privately rented residence (unless the primary tenant chooses to enforce roleplay guidelines within their residence) or the welcome center is considered an In-Character space and is subject to these standards. This includes while operating a motor vehicle. We do not permit the use of OOC huds or OOC titlers in Bridgeton County.

• Bridgeton County follows the state laws of Alaska, as well as the ordinances listed at https://gov.bridgetonsl.com/
• Godmodding, or controlling the actions of others by forcing your actions through without consideration or agreement by all parties, is not permitted in Bridgeton County.
• Metagaming, or using OOC information to influence any RP actions or decisions, is not permitted in Bridgeton County.
• Each account is limited to one (1) character within the county, outside of the MyStory HUD or similar RP Huds where the primary purpose is NOT as a titler, titlers are not allowed.
  • Clarification: Joseph Garcia is josephtucker.resident. If I wanted a second character, I would need to make another SL account. -JG 1-11-24
• Teleporting around sims to interact with an In-Character situation is not permitted in Bridgeton County.
• Gestures, Voice, or the use of unexplainable sounds are not permitted in In-Character situations.
• No person is obligated to participate in any in-character situation that they do not want to, nor are they required to RP with any person that they do not want to.
  • Clarification: This does not ommit "Public Safety Incidents" defined later in this covenant, unless there is an issue of harrassment or uncomfort, in which case a ticket must be opened. -JG 3-17-24.
• Once an RP scene has been started, it can't be skipped out on by TPing out or entereing your private residence; UNLESS you are uncomfortable with the situation or are feeling like you are being harassed, in which case you must follow up this action with opening a roleplay ticket on the discord.
• Dice Roll Huds are permitted if decisions can't be made between all parties.

What is a Child?

A child will fall into one of two categories based on their age.

• Juveniles (13-17)
• Youth (0-13)

Absolute Rule of Children:

Bridgeton County has a zero tolerance policy for any sexual activity, criminal or consentual, between children in any way. This includes child to child as well as child to adult. Violation of this will result in an immediate removal from Bridgeton County and a report being made to Linden Lab.

Exteme Violence, including but not limited to shooting, torturing, or forcing the abuse of drugs is not permitted in Bridgeton County.

Juveniles:

• Juveniles are able to Roleplay more PG-13 related situations with certain exceptions.
• Juveniles can conduct criminal activities, but are subject to the Bridgeton County Juvenile Justice System accordingly.
• Juveniles are still considered Children, but can often look like adults, in the event that an Out-of-Character Prohibited Activity (Annoted as such in the BC-LAWS section of our government page) will require the Juvenile notify the other member OOCly or ICly immediately so the subject has the ability to take immediate corrective action.
• Criminal activity outside of explicity prohibited activities can be conducted on Juveniles.
• A Juvenile will need either an Adult or NPC to manage any businesses they wish to be employed by. (This includes any commercial rental in Bridgeton County)
• Juveniles are permitted to remain their same age if they wish, they will always remain subject to these regulations so long as they remain a Juvenile.

Youth:

• Youth are not able to participate in criminal activities and are limited to rated G interactions.
• Youth must be accompanied by an Adult, Juvenile, or Nanny in Bridgeton County. If they are not, the first time they will be taken to the Juvenile Facility until their parents are able to get them. The second time, it is the discretion of the Juvenile Justice System whether they will participate or they will be informed of the rules and the RP Team notified.
• Youth are not permitted to operate motor vehicles in any capacity. A motor vehicle is defined as any object that is used at a speed of greater than 10 mph. "Power Wheels" or similar objects can be used as long as they are operated at a speed of no more than 10 mph.
• If a youth accidentally triggers a Public Safety Incident (as defined in the next section), they must immediately notify the RP Staff by opening a Roleplay Ticket on Discord.
• Youth are not permitted to work in Bridgeton County for any entity, they are considered "Permenantly Employed" as Students unless they age out of Youth status.
• Youth are permitted to remain their same age if they wish, they will always remain subject to these regulations so long as they remain a Youth.

Furries (Bipedal)

• Bridgeton is accepting of furries, however, unless they are feral they are required to be humanoid in nature.
• Furries are not allowed to have any "extra abilities" that an average person would not also possess.
• Furries are required to be clothed just like any other person in the community.
• They are subject to all other standards that an average person would also be subject to.

Feral (Non-Communicative)

• Bridgeton is accepting of Feral Animals and allowing folks to roleplay as animals.
• Feral Animals must have information on hand if asked as to what existing Alaskan (or Domesticated) animal they are representing.
• Feral Animals are required to have an accompanying family member or caretaker present in Bridgeton County, unless they are RPing in the National Park area.
• Feral Animals are not able to communicate with humanoids.

What is Public Safety Roleplay?

Public Safety Roleplay is any In-Character situations invovling a member of a County Official Entity, a Private Safety and Security Organization, and/or any Criminal Activities in Bridgeton County.

Public Safety Incidents.

The following list of incidents, whether done on purpose or by mistake, consitute a "public safety incident" this is the equivalent of starting an In-Character Situation:

• Any damage done to fire hydrants.
• Any damage done to public infrastructure.
• Any traffic violation conducted while operating a vehicle.
• Any criminal violation conducted in Bridgeton County.
• Any Fire set or dropped.
• Any use or display of a weapon.
• Any threat made in local chat.
• Any motor vehicle crash or accident (not caused directly by a sim crossing).
• Any fall from a height of greater than 10 feet by a common person that doesn't consistently train.
• Any collision between a pedestrian and a motor vehicle.
• Any considerable amount of time spent underwater.
• Running for a period of 5 kilometers in non-athletic clothing.

In the event of a Public Safety Incident, you will be required to interact with other participants in the scenario. In the event of damage done to fire hydrants or a motor vehicle crash, you are required to OOCly confirm the availablilty of Public Safety member in discord and if unavailable, notification of the RP Staff by opening a roleplay ticket.

• A car operating a 10 mph or higher striking any object will cause considerable damage to the vehicle.
• Any mode of transportation striking a fire hydrant with enough force to knock it down will likely injure the driver/operator and render a vehicle unusable. (If you don't believe me try to ride a bicycle into a fire hydrant with enough force to knock it over, it's not fun, I've tried and failed at it.)

Public Safety Employment Guidelines:

• Civilian Government employees (including the orphanage) must be 18 years of age ICly or older.
• Sworn Law Enforcement employees must be 21 years of age ICly or older.
• Public Safety Employees MUST be present on the County Discord.
• Public Safety Employees MUST set their discord server nickname to their first and last IC name.
• The following agencies are considered Public Safety Employers:
  • Bridgeton County Sheriff's Office.
  • Bridgeton County Department of Public Safety.
  • Albion Falls Fire Department.
  • Portview Academy / Albion Falls Independent School Disctrict.
  • Albion Falls Medical Center.
  • Currently Unnamed Orphanage.
  • Any County Moderator or Manager.

• Your second life account must be at least 30 days of age to participate within Bridgeton County, exceptions will be made on a case by case basis.
• Moderate Linden Labs rules must be observed. Any conduct prohibited by Linden Labs is not permitted within Bridgeton County.
• Disputes can be escalated to BC Management. You must open a Roleplay Ticket on discord. We encourage you to maintain chat logs in screenshot or gyazo form, as copy and paste text will be considered the equivalent of heresay.
• Bridgeton County does not tolerate any OOC bullying, entitlement based activity, or harassment. Such activity will be permitted within In-Character Situations but will carry In-Character consequences.
• Any member of the management who has provided any guidelines or directives must be obeyed. If you have a dispute against a team member, open a roleplay ticket on discord and request escalation.
• Flying is not permitted anywhere in Bridgeton County unless done by a member of staff in their regular course of duties.
• Public rezzing is permitted for the use of vehicles and props and must be limited to 100 prims. These objects MUST be cleaned up before you leave Bridgeton County or log out of Second Life. Management will return objects that don't have associated rentals.
• All items rezzed must be consistent with the theme and time period of Bridgeton County. Our theme is Rural Alaska and our Time Period is aligned with the true date and time of PST (or SLT).
• Breeding breedables is not permitted within Bridgeton County.
  • Clarification: Any object that has the ability to create smaller versions of itself, duplicate in any way, or creates any prims or scripts in addition to it's own; is considered a breedable by the covenant. This is regardless of any setting that allows that function to be deactivated. -JG 1-11-24.
